HC Deb 30 January 1984 vol 53 cc97-8W
Dr. Roger Thomas

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he has investigated whether his recently published memorandum to family practitioner committees on the restricted use of deputising services by family medical practitioners will add to medical unemployment.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

There is no significant medical unemployment in this country at the moment and there is no reason why the proposals for deputising services upon which we are consulting should affect that position.
