HC Deb 30 January 1984 vol 53 cc94-5W
Mr. Adley

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make a statement on the latest proposals emanating from the European Community, relevant to anti-rabies measures, and harmonisation or abolition of animal quarantine regulations between member states.

Mrs. Fenner

No proposals have been made by the European Commission for the harmonisation of member states' anti-rabies measures. If in future any such proposals are made, the Government will insist that there is no weakening in our present quarantine defences against the introduction of rabies.
