§ Mr. Pikeasked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will state a date on which a decision will be announced on the case at present being reviewed for the extension of the M65 to link from Whitebirk, Blackburn to the M6.
§ Mrs. ChalkerI cannot at this stage say when I shall be able to take a final decision. My Department is pursuing a number of technical points which arise from the case the county council has made for the "green route"; and the county council itself is preparing a revised cost benefit assessment of the scheme. I shall make a decision as soon as possible following the completion of this work.
