§ Mr. Wigleyasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will take steps to ensure that the full provisions contained in the British Standard, entitled BS 680: roofing slates, are incorporated as required standards in the building regulations applying when slates are used for roofing purposes.
§ Sir George YoungIn consultation with the building industry and building users, we are conducting a review of the building regulations in England and Wales. This includes an examination of all British standards relevant to roofing. In the case of BS 680, "Roofing Slates", we shall see whether any or all of its provisions can be incorporated in the new system.
