HC Deb 26 January 1984 vol 52 c692W
Mr. Terlezki

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will take steps to ensure that there is no industrial or military literature deposited in libraries in the United Kingdom which could be of use to organisations of other countries.

Mr. Pattie

Industrial and military information based on official knowledge which could be of benefit to potentially hostile nations is protected by the Official Secrets Act and, where appropriate, by security classification. It is neither feasible nor desirable in a free society to control other industrial or military literature.
