§ Mr. WhitneySince the answer given by my right hon. and learned Friend to the hon. Member's question of 7 December 1983—[Vol. 50, c.170–71]—Mr. Denktash has made a statement on 2 January containing certain proposals. President Kyprianou has given the United Nations Secretary General proposals for the framework of a comprehensive solution to the Cyprus problem. He discussed these with my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister on 18 January. We remain in contact with all parties and support the efforts of the United Nations Secretary General to work towards an early solution to the Cyprus problem.
