HC Deb 24 January 1984 vol 52 c515W
Sir John Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what changes are contemplated in the use of Carrickfergus castle; and what is the intended future of the regimental museums housed there.

Mr. Chris Patten

Carrickfergus castle will continue to be available to the public as a historic monument. The regimental museum trustees are considering an offer of alternative accommodation from Carrickfergus borough council on expiry of their present lease of the upper floors of the castle keep.
