asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he is satisfied with the current recruitment figures of the Royal Naval Reserve; and if he will make a statement.

Yes. The current strength of the Royal Naval Reserve is 5,320 against a provision for a current maximum of 5,500. I am glad to say that a recent national advertising campaign resulted in over 600 applications to join the Royal Naval Reserve.
