HC Deb 17 January 1984 vol 52 c191W
Mr. Michael Forsyth

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will estimate the revenue from all forms of central Government taxation raised from the area of Scotland's Highland region and the three island authorities.

Mr. Moore

The only information available for the Highland region and the three island authorities is the amount of income tax for which people resident in these areas were liable. The following estimates for 1981–2, the latest available year, are from the survey of personal incomes and cover individuals for whom income tax records are held by Inland Revenue:

£ million
Highland Region 135
Three island authorities 37
