§ Mr. John MacKayThe population was 274,622 as at 5 April 1981. No grants are made to the Crofters Commission. Payments to or for the benefit of crofters specifically are as follows:
expenditure, and travel and subsistence of the Crofting Commission, the Red Deer Commission, the Meat and Livestock Commission, the Highlands and Islands Development Board, the Scottish Development Agency, the Manpower Services Commission (Scotland), the Countryside Commission for Scotland, the Scottish Sports Council and the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board, respectively.

The coverage of "other administration" is not necessarily the same in all cases.
