§ Mr. Tony Banks
asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will publish the proportion of local authority expenditure undertaken by (a) the precepting authorities and (b) the borough or district councils in (i) London, (ii) the metropolitan counties and (iii) the non-metropolitan areas.

The information is given in the table which is based on revenue budgets of local authorities in England in 1983–84.
