HC Deb 29 February 1984 vol 55 c203W
Mr. Terlezki

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland, pursuant to the answers of 21 February concerning hospital treatment following mugging and robbing in Scotland, from where this information may be obtained.

Mr. John MacKay

Hospital statistics about patients with injuries resulting from assaults by other persons do not distinguish between injuries sustained in the course of theft or robbery, and injuries arising from assault by unspecified means. The information sought by my hon. Friend could be obtained only by checking the individual hospital records of patients who have been treated for injury following assault, and this would be prohibitively expensive.
