§ Mr. Cartwrightasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list the names, qualifications and rates of remuneration of those former local government officers who are currently assisting his Department in its work on his proposals for abolition of the Greater London council and the metropolitan county councils and the provisions of the Rates Bill.
§ Mr. WaldegraveMy Department is currently assisted by the occasional services of four former local government officers as consultants on technical aspects of the Government's proposals for the abolition of the Greater London council and metropolitan county councils, and the provisions of the Rates Bill. They are:

- Mr. P. J. Coomber, farmer Borough Treasurer, London Borough of Ealing.
- Mr. D. Mitchell, former Director of Establishments arid Controller of Personnel, Greater London Council.
- Mr. K. H. Potts, former Chief Executive, Leeds City Council.
- Mr. F. Tolson, Former City Treasurer, Leeds City Council.
Fees, which are related to the amount of time spent on this consultancy work, are paid pro rata to the daily rate of £122. Travel, subsistence and incidental expenses on the usual Civil Service terms are payable as appropriate.
