HC Deb 28 February 1984 vol 55 cc118-9W
Mr. Gould

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if any study has been made of the consequences to health, carcinogenic or otherwise, of the use of creosote as a flux in the laying of bitumen; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Gummer

The Health and Safety Executive has not made a specific study of the health hazards of the use of creosote in the laying of bitumen. A number of reports on the potential health hazards of creosote have, however, been published.
