HC Deb 27 February 1984 vol 55 c39W
Mr. Alton

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many homes in Liverpool have now received improvement grants; how many applications are outstanding; and how many homes are still without basic amenities.

Sir George Young

Liverpool city council has reported a total of about 10,000 improvement grants from April 1974 to September 1983. My Department does not collect information on applications which are outstanding and I suggest that the hon. Member contacts the council for this figure.

The council's estimates of the numbers of unfit dwellings and of fit dwellings lacking basic amenities at April 1983 are included in its housing investment programme return which is available in the Library.
