Mr. Robert Atkins

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs (1) what representations he has received concerning the safety and security of the England cricket team in Pakistan; from whom; and if he will make a statement;

(2) if he is satisfied with the arrangements being made to ensure the safety and security of the England cricket team upon its arrival in Pakistan.

We are in touch with the Test and County Cricket Board and the Pakistani authorities about the arrangements for the England cricket tour in Pakistan. We shall continue to follow the situation closely. We are so far satisfied with the arrangements being made for the safety and security of the England cricket team.
