Yes, in cases where it has been concluded following consultation with the Nature Conservancy Council that, subject to appropriate conditions, trade can take place in a particular species without threatening its survival.

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many licences under the Endangered Species Act for the import of cetacea have been issued in each of the past five years; for what animals; for what reasons; and for what destinations.

consultation paper "Streamlining the Cities: Waste Disposal", has commented that it considers a joint board for waste regulation and disposal the most satisfactory option on abolition of the GLC. Its views will be taken into account by the Government along with those of other bodies.
