HC Deb 23 February 1984 vol 54 c626W
Mr. Corbyn

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many policemen in the Royal Ulster Constabulary have been subjected to internal disciplinary procedures for their use of plastic bullets.

Mr. Scott

Disciplinary charges arising from alleged breaches of force orders governing the handling and use of riot guns have been preferred against four officers, of whom three were acquitted. Records are not maintained centrally of minor disciplinary action taken at divisional level against RUC officers and information about such action could be assembled only at disproportionate cost.
