§ 27. Mr. McCuskerasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what is the total amount of lost remission accrued by Loyalist prisoners who started protesting in Her Majesty's prisons in Northern Ireland after the ending of the Irish Republican Army hunger strike in 1981.
§ Mr. ScottI regret that this information is not readily available. However, I should inform the House that those engaged on the Loyalist protest at Her Majesty's prison Maze informed the governor yesterday that they have ended their action and wish to be regarded as conforming prisoners. Those who took part in the protest from October 1982 until yesterday's development will have lost about six months' remission.
