HC Deb 22 February 1984 vol 54 c562W
54. Mr. John David Taylor

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what subjects relevant to Northern Ireland were discussed during the meeting between the Minister of State, the hon. Member for Edinburgh, Pentlands (Mr. Rifkind), and the Foreign Minister of the Irish Republic in Dublin on Tuesday 7 February.

Mr. Rifkind

The purpose of my visit was to discuss European Community matters. The Irish Foreign Minister referred very briefly to the visit of His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh to Drummad barracks. We each made clear the position of our respective Governments.
