HC Deb 22 February 1984 vol 54 c521W
Mr. Corbyn

asked the Secretary of State for Transport why his Department resisted the proposal that the Archway road inquiry should hold some evening sessions.

Mrs. Chalker

It is incorrect to say that my Department has resisted the proposal that the Archway road should hold some evening sessions. On the contrary as was clearly stated in position paper No. 2The Department of Transport's view is that wherever possible normal inquiry hours (Tuesday to Friday 10 am–5 pm) should be followed. Where there is a demand for an evening session to allow those to attend who otherwise would find it impossible, the Department would not resist a limited number of evening sessions.
