§ Mr. GummerIt is intended to make provision for the labelling of dangerous substances, including carcinogens, in new regulations—the Classification, Packaging and Labelling of Dangerous Substances Regulations—to be introduced this year.
The Health and Safety Executive is also developing proposals which include draft regulations and draft 465W **approved codes of practice for the control of substances hazardous to health at work, including carcinogens. It is hoped to issue a consultative document later this year.
Legislation for the control of asbestos will be extended during the year to complete implementation of the European directives on this subject.
