HC Deb 20 February 1984 vol 54 c430W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will withdraw the press advertisements for the post of chief executive of the National Health Service until the Social Services Committee has completed its study of the implications of the Griffiths report or at least until there has been a parliamentary debate on the report.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

No such advertisement has been placed. We await with interest the report of the Select Committee on Social Services which we hope will be completed and available speedily. We cannot, however, undertake to postpone all action on the Griffiths report indefinitely until the report has been received.
