HC Deb 20 February 1984 vol 54 c432W
Mr. Deakins

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what was the value of military weapons, vehicles, ammunition, ships, submarines and aircraft produced in the United Kingdom in the latest year for which figures are available; and what proportion of this military production was exported for sale to other countries.

Mr. Pattie

In 1982, the estimated value of sales to military users by the United Kingdom ordnance, small arms and ammunition, explosives, motor vehicles, shipbuilding, and aerospace industry was about £5,000 million, excluding VAT, of which nearly 35 per cent. was exported.
