§ 47. Ms. Richardsonasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, in view of the findings of the Policies Studies Institute report "Police and People in London", what guidelines have been prepared for the Metropolitan police to ensure that it does not contravene the Sex Discrimination Act.
§ Mr. HurdThe Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis has dropped the 10 per cent. quota on the recruitment of women and has established a working party to consider the recruitment, deployment and career development of women officers in the Metropolitan police. Advice will be provided by the Equal Opportunities Commission.
