§ Mr. Tom Coxasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will now make a statement on the arrangements proposed for the organisation of fire services for London should the Greater London council be abolished.
§ Mr. MellorConsideration is being given to whether special measures may be needed for the London fire brigade, in view of its comparative size, in order to ensure that the new arrangements provide for effective and fully accountable local management. This matter is being studied in the light of the responses to Cmnd. 9063.
