Mr. Jim Callaghan

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will list the number of fire inspections in England and Wales for the years 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982 and 1983.

Information on numbers of fire prevention inspections undertaken in 1983 is not yet available. The information relating to 1979, 1980, 1981 and 1982 is as follows:
