asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will list in the Official Report the amount of annual payments which have been made to the United Kingdom out of the social fund of the European Community for each of the last five years, expressed both in current and in real terms.

The following table shows the payments made to the United Kingdom from the European social fund in cash terms for 1982–83 and the preceding four years, and also the payments adjusted by applying the gross domestic product deflator at market prices, with 1982–83 as the base year:
