HC Deb 13 February 1984 vol 54 c51W
33. Mr. Tony Banks

asked the Under-Secretary of State answering in respect of the Arts if he will list the numbers of submissions received by the Office of Arts and Libraries on the arts consultative paper which accompanied Cmnd. 9063 indicating how many were in favour and how many against; and when the Government will be presenting their proposals.

Mr. Waldegrave

As at 9 February, over 450 representations had been received, and more are continuing to arrive. The majority express concern that the position of arts bodies in respect of funding following local government reorganisation should not suffer, and the Government will be responding on this and other matters following careful consideration of all the representations that have been made.
