Mr. Dalyell

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the application of article 73 of the United Nations Charter to the Government's proposals for the future of the Falkland Islands.

Mr. Whitney

As the member of the United Nations responsible for the administration of the Falkland Islands, we shall continue to fulfil our obligations under article 73 of the charter.
