§ Mrs. Renée Shortasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will provide additional resources to the local authorities to provide the social services needed by elderly people at home who can not be admitted to hospital.
§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeI believe that local authorities, who are best placed to judge local priorities, should themselves decide the relative priority to be given to their various services within the need to keep their total expenditure within sensible limits.
