HC Deb 13 February 1984 vol 54 c40W
Mr. Frank

Field asked the Solicitor-General for Scotland what is the number and proportion of criminal cases which were exempted from the provisions of the 110-day rule during 1983.

The Solicitor-General for Scotland

The 110-day rule applies only to custody cases and the number of accused in custody exempted from the provisions of the rule was given in my reply to the hon. Member on 19 January 1984. The rule does not apply to those accused who are on bail and who comprise 46 per cent. of the High Court cases and 80 per cent. of the sheriff court cases.
