HC Deb 09 February 1984 vol 53 cc698-9W
Mr. Fisher

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what foreign-made small arms ammunition has been imported into the United Kingdom since 1974, by year, country, type and value, respectively.

Mr. Pattie

The table shows the information requested in respect of small arms ammunition purchased by the Ministry of Defence. I am unable to provide figures in respect of other importers. The figures exclude minor purchases, individually worth less than £50,000, which totalled some £260,000 during the period. They also exclude ammunition captured in the Falkland Islands. The years represent the dates at which contracts were placed. Values are exclusive of VAT and at historic prices.
