HC Deb 09 February 1984 vol 53 cc782-3W
Mr. Tony Banks

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will now estimate the savings in administrative costs which will be made in the event of the abolition of the Greater London coucil.

Mr. Waldegrave

I have nothing to add to the reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Broxtowe (Mr. Lester) on 20 January.—[Vol. 52, c.350.]

Mr. Tony Banks

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment when he expects to be in a position to state what existing Acts will have to be amended or repealed should the Greater London council be abolished.

Mr. Waldegrave

This information will be included in the legislation abolishing the GLC and the metropolitan county councils, which will be introduced early next Session.
