Dr. David Clark

asked the Secretary of State for Transport what has been the level of expenditure on construction of trunk roads for each of the last 10 years at (a) actual and (b) real levels in each of the regional areas.

asked the Secretary of State for Transport (1) how many major road schemes are currently under preparation, and what are their respective costs in each of the regional office areas;

(2) if he will list the number of major road schemes under construction and their respective costs in each of the regional office areas.

[pursuant to her reply, 6 February 1984, c. 452]: Details of the motorway and trunk road programme for England are set out in the White Paper "Policy for Roads in England: 1983", Cmnd. 9059. A comprehensive list of major schemes in preparation and under construction is contained in annex B, and descriptions of major planned developments in each regional office area are contained in annex A.
