HC Deb 08 February 1984 vol 53 c680W
Mr. McQuarrie

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will investigate the circumstances in which two Scottish fishing vessels each landed 300 tonnes of mackerel at a port in the Faroes; and if these landings were recorded by the fisheries officers as being within the quotas for these vessels.

Mr. John MacKay

One vessel has recently landed mackerel at a port in the Faroes, having obtained the necessary clearance as to quotas from the Sea Fisheries Inspectorate.

Officials of the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries are making inquiries to ascertain whether there have been other landings.
