§ Sir Dudley Smithasked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will introduce legislation to require the British Gas Corporation to connect to the mains gas supply all persons who live within three miles of the mains.
§ Mr. Buchanan-SmithI have no such plans. Where there is no existing statutory duty to connect, new business should remain a commercial matter between the corporation and potential customers.
