§ Mr. WhitneySubject to parliamentary approval of the necessary spring Supplementary Estimate, the cash limit of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Class II, Vote 4 will be increased by £1,912,000 from £39,883,000 to £41,795,000 to enable the British Council to maintain its level of activity in this financial year. The increase will be charged to the contingency reserve and will not therefore add to the planned total of public expenditure.
