HC Deb 06 February 1984 vol 53 c500W
Mr. Canavan

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will introduce legislation to enable an objector or group of objectors to an application for planning permission to a district council to appeal to him against the granting of the application.

Mr. Ancram

No. The existing procedures provide adequate opportunity for objectors to any development proposal to make their views known to the planning authority so that these may be taken into account by the authority in arriving at their decision on the planning application involved.
