HC Deb 06 February 1984 vol 53 c450W
56. Sir John Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for Transport what request he has received from Essex county council to consider northward slip roads from M11 at Loughton; and what action has followed.

Mrs. Chalker

The county surveyor wrote to my Department on 22 November 1983 asking that preliminary work should be authorised to study the need for these additional slip roads. At a meeting on 21 December he was told of our commitment to review the matter in the light of changing traffic patterns following the completion of the M25 round north-east London. My hon. Friend will recall that I gave him a similar undertaking in answer to his question on 11 July last. I hope to make our views known in autumn 1985, following a year of experience with the M25 open from the Dartford tunnel to the A1. —[Vol. 45, c. 595–6.]
