HC Deb 02 February 1984 vol 53 cc274-5W
Mr. Dubs

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many people were granted temporary admission to the United Kingdom during the most recent 12 months; and how many were subsequently (a) removed, (b) given leave to enter and (c) left of their own accord.

Mr. Waddington

The number of people seeking entry to the United Kingdom who were given temporary admission in 1983, either pending further examination or following refusal of leave to enter, was 7,292.

I regret that records are not maintained to enable the other information requested to be given.
