§ Mr. Wigleyasked the Secretary of State for Wales whether he is satisfied that the rateable values of property in various parts of Wales have an identical basis of evaluation; and what is his assessment of the range of variation of rateable value for a typical house through the 37 districts of Wales.
§ Mr. MooreI have been asked to reply.
I am satisfied that rateable values for properties in Wales are assessed uniformly as prescribed by statute. Values for typical houses vary according to age, location, size, amenities and patterns of supply and demand as affecting rental values on 1 April 1973, not only between districts but also within each of the 37 districts of Wales.
