asked the Secretary of State for Scotland when his Department were first made aware that Tayside regional council was considering the construction of a nuclear emergency centre at Baldinnie reservoir, Coupar, Angus.

Tayside regional council first approached my Department about the provision of a new wartime emergency centre in April 1982: Baldinnie reservoir was identified as the preferred site in September 1982.

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list the projects, by location and estimated cost, which his Department and the appropriate local government authority are discussing at present regarding the provision of nuclear emergency centres.
