HC Deb 02 February 1984 vol 53 cc357-64W
Dr. Cunningham

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will publish the population for block grant purposes of every local authority in England (i) in 1981–82, and (ii) in 1984–85, showing the percentage change for each authority between 1981–82 and 1984–85.

Mr. Patrick Jenkin

The population figures used for block grant purposes for 1981–82 and 1984–85, together with the percentage changes between these two years, are shown in the table. The 1981–82 figures are mid-1979 estimates while those for the 1984–85 settlement are mid-1982 estimates.
