§ Mr. Eggarasked the Secretary of State for Defence if he is now in a position to announce the timing of vesting day for Royal Ordnance plc.
§ Mr. ButlerVesting day will be 2 January 1985. On that day, a scheme will come into effect pursuant to section 1 of the Ordnance Factories and Military Services Act 1984 which will transfer assets and liabilities of the ROF trading fund and certain other establishments to the Royal Ordnance plc. The existing shares in the company have all been transferred to the ownership of my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Defence. A copy of the scheme will be laid before Parliament as soon as the House reconvenes after the recess.
