§ Mr. Galeasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will provide details of local authorities' housing investment programme allocations for 1985–86.
§ Mr. GowGross provision for local authorities' housing investment in England in 1985–86 is £2,324 million. This sum includes £31 million for the homes insulation scheme, including administrative costs.
The total available for housing investment programme allocations is £1,600 million. The initial HIP allocation total is £1,593 million, a reserve of £7 million having been 268W established from which further homes insulation scheme allocations may be made in accordance with demand. Each local authority is today being informed of its own allocation. Copies of the letter to authorities and of the schedule of initial allocations have been placed in the Library and the Vote office. A note on the method by which those allocations were determined has also been placed in the Library.
