HC Deb 19 December 1984 vol 70 c213W
Mr. William Ross

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what sums are collected in licence fees in respect of each of (a) the new stretch, (b) the special stretch and (c) leap or restricted stretch of the river Bush fishery in each year since 1973 until the latest available date.

Dr. Boyson

Since licence fees are not levied on the basis of individual fisheries, it is assumed that the information required relates to the revenue from the daily angling permits issued by the Department of Agriculture for Northern Ireland. This information is published annually in the report on the Sea and Inland Fisheries of Northern Ireland. The figures for the 1984 angling season, which have not yet been published, are as follows:

£
New Stretch* 1,781.00
Town or special Stretch 3,177.15
Leap or restricted Stretch 1,155.95
* An additional stretch of the river acquired by the Department for angling in 1984.
