§ Mr. Gordon Brownasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is his estimate of the average percentage tax take per barrel of oil in (a) the United Kingdom and (b) Norway.
§ Mr. Moore[pursuant to his reply, 17 December 1984, c. 66]: Tax—including royalties—payable on oil and gas production in 1983 from the United Kingdom sector of the North sea is estimated to have been about 55 per 191W cent. of gross revenues. I regret that this figure cannot be apportioned between oil and gas. Comparable figures for Norway are not available.
