asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) what was the average overtime payment made to individual officers of the Metropolitan police by rank for each tour of duty worked on mutual aid during the miners' dispute;

(2) what was the total amount of overtime payments paid to officers of the Metropolitan police on mutual aid duties during the miners' dispute, by month.
