§ Mr. Corbynasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will list the number of attacks on women in the Metropolitan police area for each year since 1979 and for each month to date in 1984 by category of (a) rape, (b) indecent assault by age group and (c) incest; and what is the number of successful prosecutions.
§ Mr. Giles ShawI understand from the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis that the latest available annual information is published in appendix 4ii of his annual report for 1983 (Cmnd. 9268). The number of notifiable offences recorded by the police in the first nine months of 1984 is given in the following table. I shall write as soon as possible about the number of prosecutions.
